Sudurpachim Royals have defeated Chitwan Rhinos by 5 wickets in the match played between the two sides under the Nepal Premier League (NPL) Twenty20 tournament.
In the match played earlier on Monday at the TU International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, Sudurpaschim surpassed the victory target of 130 runs set by Chitwan in 16.4 overs at the loss of 5 wickets.
Player-of-the-match Brandon McMullen top-scored for the winning team with 43 runs in 21 balls while Ishan Pandey and Aarif Sheikh contributed 25 and 20 runs respectively. Sherfane Rutherford scored 21 runs in 15 balls to take his team to victory.
For the bowling side, Ranjit Kumar took 3 wickets while Rijan Dhakal and Mausam Dhakal took 1 wicket each.
Earlier Sudurpaschim won the toss and elected to bowl first and restricted Chitwan Rhinos to 129 runs in 20 overs at the loss of 6 wickets.
For Chitwan, Ravi Bopara scored 49 runs in 40 balls while Bibek Yadav (17), David Malan (16), Arjun Saud (15) and Sikandar Raja (15) were other notable contributors.
For the bowling side, Scot Kuggeleijn took 2 wickets while Hemant Dhami, Dipendra Singh Airee and Anil Kharel took 1 wicket each.
Following Monday’s win, Sudurpaschim climb to the third position in the points table with 4 points in 4 matches, while Chitwan are in the 5th position with 3 points in 3 matches.(RSS)
