Speaker Aryal insists on parliamentary discussion before introducing laws
Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal has said that, whenever possible, laws should be drafted following parliamentary discussions.
Though the government has the constitutional authority to introduce an ordinance, it is more appropriate to enact laws through parliamentary discussions, he underscored.
“An act of issuing an ordinance by exercising the rights granted by the Constitution should not be viewed otherwise. Decisions taken by the state based on necessity must be respected,” he said while speaking to journalists here Friday.
However, we are prepared for parliamentary proceedings. It is in the best interest of all state bodies and citizens if laws are formulated through wider discussions in the House as much as possible” the Speaker said. His remarks come amid reports that the government is planning to introduce ordinances on some significant matters.(RSS)
